Homework Expectations

Third grade will require the following homework:

1. Read 15 minutes each night, preferably from an AR book. This year students will have individualized AR point goals for each quarter.

2. Practice multiplication flashcards each night. It is a major emphasis to learn all multiplication facts by the end of third grade. Practice, practice, practice!

3. Monday through Thursday students will have a Math Reteach page as homework. Your student should be able to complete this assignment independently, however please help if needed. If your child does not understand the math homework after giving their best effort, please write a note on the page or in their assignment notebook and we will go over it together.

​​4. If a student is unable to complete a class assignment they may be asked to complete that work at home.

5. Each day students will write their homework in their assignment notebooks. I will also write book order dates, test dates, school events, and other important information here. All students are expected to have their assignment notebook signed by their parent/guardian each night and returned to school the next day. I check assignment books every day and is a great place for quick notes. Communication is key!
